Progress of building the farmstand.

We got the little i guess I can call it building that will be our farmstand moved to the spot in the yard close to the road that it is going to be located from now on. At the moment it doesnt look like much. We still have to turn it facing the house. That may sound a bit weird but the purpose is so that customers will have to pull in our horse shoe driveway to shop. If we faced it to the road and people pulled off the side of the road they would get stuck because the ground is soft there.

My husband is going to make some shelves inside the farmstand and do some repairs as it was a shooting house he used for hunting. It has been sitting in the yard unused for 6 years. I am going to paint it and use the back as a huge sign so people will know what it is as they pass by.

You should of seen us trying to get it off the trailer. Loading it on the trailer to move it was easy. We just tumped it over onto the trailer but unloading it was MUCH harder. We had to get it from the front side of the stand laying down on the trailer to a standing upright off the trailer position. I wedged a 2 by 4 under it and used my body weight to push it upwards in a effort to help my husband get it upright. We both were giving it all we had and it wasnt getting high enough to get it unright.

When we were getting close my husband said "Push baby"! Meaning for me to push harder down on the 2 by 4 we had wedged under it to use as a lever. I said "I am! If it push down any harder my guts are gonna fall out my butt!" 🤣 My father in law was sitting on the patio. We didnt hear him come outside. He was laughing so hard he almost fell out of his chair. We finally managed to get it upright and standing. My husband and i got the new tin roof on it. After all that we both were give out so we left it standing as it was. We will get out there soon and get it turned so thay it is straight and facing the house perfectly.

We are facing it to the house so that customers can pull in our horse shoe drive, get out of their car, and take their time to shop. We are going to sit a picnic table to one side. On a pretty day on the weekends we may set up a few tables on the other side to display some of my crocheted things for sale.

My open sign/feather flag and the pole for it came in. Yay! I cant wait to get the farmstand open. Tomorrow is a bake day for 2 customer orders. Business is picking up slowly. Any new business is that way. It takes time to build a customer base. I will post again soon. I am attaching a AI picture of what the goal of the end result of our farmstand will look like. This is the goal or as close to this as we can get. I also added a picture of what it looks like at the moment. Thank you so much for following and supporting our dream of a microbakery and farmstand. We are so excited to see where this journey is going to take us. Stick around to follow the progress as I share each week about how its going. See yall soon! 😊
